Drawing
Drawing is a form of visual art that makes use of any number of drawing instruments to mark a two-dimensional medium. Instruments used include graphite pencils, pen and ink, inked brushes, wax color pencils, crayons, charcoal, chalk, pastels, various kinds of erasers, markers, styluses, and various metals (such as silverpoint).
What is line? Line is the most basic design 'tool'. A line has length, width, tone, and texture. It may divide space, define a form, describe contour, suggest direction.

Postive & Negative Space & Drawing
Positive and Negative Space, in art, is the space around and between the subject(s) of an image. Negative space may be most evident when the space around a subject, and not the subject itself, forms an interesting or artistically relevant shape. The use of negative space is a key element of artistic composition.
